Hadith 567

Tariq bin Shihab narrated: When Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Today Islam has become weak." The narrator said: Sufyan would sometimes say in the hadith of Qais: They said to her (Umm Ayman): Do not weep. She replied: I weep over the news from the sky. Ishaq (the narrator) said: We consider this from Sufyan to be a mistake.

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
During the era of Sayyiduna Umar (radi Allahu anhu), the banner of tawhid (monotheism) was raised across the East and West, and there were numerous conquests. After that came the era of Sayyiduna Uthman (radi Allahu anhu), in whose first six years there were many conquests, but the remaining six years were overtaken by tribulations. After this, Islam did not attain the same strength as it had during the era of Sayyiduna Umar (radi Allahu anhu).
