Explanation & Benefits

Benefits: The capture of disbelievers at the hands of Muslims sometimes turns out to be a supreme blessing for them, as they accept Islam and thereby attain the eternal reward of Paradise. This hadith establishes the virtue of the Ummah of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). In Surah Al-Imran, verse number 110, three qualities are mentioned: enjoining what is right (amr bil-ma'ruf), forbidding what is wrong (nahi 'anil-munkar)—that is, striving in the path of Allah (jihad fi sabilillah)—and faith in Allah, meaning the pure belief in monotheism (tawhid). Furthermore, the Ummah of Muhammad has been made the middle nation (ummatan wasatan). ()
