Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "Three things are from the practices of the Age of Ignorance: wailing, a person disassociating himself from his father, and his boasting over people."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that these mentioned acts are remnants of the practices of ignorance (jahiliyyah) within the Muslim Ummah.
➊ Lamentation (Niyahah): ... Niyahah refers to loudly mentioning the qualities of the deceased or crying and wailing by loudly expressing the anticipated difficulties that will follow after the deceased. It is prohibited. In Sahih Muslim, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Malik Ash'ari radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "The woman who wails (mourns loudly), if she does not repent before her death, will be raised on the Day of Resurrection wearing a garment of tar and a coat of scabs."
➋ Disassociating oneself from one’s father: ... This means abandoning one’s own father and attributing oneself to someone else.
➌ Boasting over people: ... In a hadith it is stated: "At-tafakhur fil-ahsab." (Silsilat al-Sahihah, no. 1799) That is, "Boasting about family lineage." It is understood that boasting over people on the basis of lineage and ancestry is among the practices of jahiliyyah, because the division of families and tribes is merely for identification. In the sight of Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, the standard of honor is neither family nor wealth.
Boasting over people, that is, considering others to be inferior, is a sign of arrogance.
