Syedna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned the tribe of Daws. He said: Those people—and he mentioned their men and women. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands. That man said: «انا لله وانا اليه راجعون», By the Lord of the Ka'bah! The people of Daws are destroyed. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands and said: "O Allah! Grant guidance to the people of Daws."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: The aforementioned hadith establishes the virtue of the tribe of Daws. This tribe resided in Yemen, because Daws is a people in the region of ‘Ayn, and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu was from this tribe. In Sahih al-Bukhari, it is mentioned that the one who requested this supplication was Sayyiduna Tufayl ibn ‘Amr al-Dawsi radi Allahu anhu. (Bukhari, Book of Expeditions, No: 4392) As a result of the noble Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam supplication, the people of this tribe became Muslim. (Fath al-Bari: 8/128. Commentary on Hadith: 4392)
