Example of one who takes back his gift
Hadith 504
اَخْبَرَنَا الثَّقَفِیُّ، نَا اَیُّوْبُ، عَنْ عِکْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ رَّسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: لَیْسَ لَنَا مَثَلَ السُّوْئِ اَلْعَائِدُ فِیْ هَبِتِهٖ کَالْکَلْبِ یَعُوْدُ فِیْ قَیْئِهٖ.
Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "There is no bad example for us (we will not be among those described by this example); the one who takes back his gift is like a dog that vomits and then licks it up."
