Example of one who takes back his gift
Hadith 501
اَخْبَرَنَا وَکِیْعٌ، نَا اِبْرَاهِیْمَ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ،عَنْ طَاؤُوْسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَا یَحِلُّ لِاَحَدٍ اَنْ یُّعْطِیَ عَطِیَّةً فَیَرْجِعُ فِیْهَا، اِلَّا الْوَالِدُ.
Tawoos (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not lawful for anyone to give a gift and then take it back, except for a father (he may take back what he has given to his child)."
