Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not lawful for anyone to give a gift and then take it back, except for a father who gives something to his child. The example of a person who gives a gift and then takes it back is like a dog who vomits and then licks it up."
