Hadith 492

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever is given something without asking for it and he accepts it, then it is a provision that Allah has sent to him."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
From the mentioned hadith, it is understood that a person should not be greedy or covetous regarding the wealth of others; one should neither harbor greed and covetousness for people’s wealth in the heart nor ask for it with the tongue. “And whoever is protected from the stinginess and greed of his own soul, then those are the successful ones.” However, when wealth comes to a person without effort, hardship, greed, or covetousness, then it should be accepted, because Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, has created means of sustenance for him, and he should also express gratitude to Allah, the Possessor of Majesty.
