From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that when a servant brings food, it is better to make him sit with you and feed him. If this is not possible, then at least some portion of the food should definitely be given to him, rather than giving him only the leftovers.
From the above hadith, the truthfulness of Islam and its justice and fairness are also established, for if anyone is considered the lowest in status in society, it is the servant. Yet Islam has commanded that their rights be fulfilled, and the extent of good treatment towards the servant can be gauged from the fact that Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, has said:
﴿وَ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ وَ لَا تُشْرِکُوْا بِهٖ شَیْئًا وَّ بِالْوَالِدَیْنِ اِحْسَانًا وَّبِذِی الْقُرْبٰی وَ الْیَتٰمٰی وَ الْمَسٰکِیْنِ وَ الْجَارِ ذِی الْقُرْبٰی وَ الْجَارِ الْجُنُبِ وَ الصَّاحِبِ بِالْجَنْبِ وَ ابْنِ السَّبِیْلِ وَ مَا مَلَکَتْ اَیْمَانُکُمْ﴾ (an-Nisa: 36) .... "Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, and do good to parents, relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the distant neighbor, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess, that is, the servants."
The wisdom in feeding the servant together is that it increases love, honor, and respect for the master in the servant’s heart.
