أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ، نا شُعْبَةُ، نا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ خَادِمَهُ بِطَعَامِهِ قَدْ كَفَاهُ عِلَاجَهُ وَحَرَّهُ أَوْ عِلَاجَهُ وَدُخَانَهُ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يُجْلِسْهُ مَعَهُ فَيُنَاوِلْهُ أُكْلَةً أَوْ أُكْلَتَيْنِ، أَوْ لُقْمَةً أَوْ لُقْمَتَيْنِ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the servant (slave) of any one of you brings his food to him, and if he does not seat him with himself, then he should give him one or two morsels, because he has endured hardship and heat in preparing it."
