Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "When a slave obeys his Lord and his master, he will have two rewards." The narrator stated: When Abu Rafi' was freed, he began to weep. He was asked: Why are you weeping? He replied: I used to have two rewards, and now one of those rewards is gone.

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: ➊ ... From the mentioned narration, the virtue of Abu Rafi‘ rahimahullah is also established, showing how eager he was for good deeds and how strictly he adhered to the Shari‘ah. ➋ ... The meaning of "double reward" is that there is twice the recompense. This is because slaves or bondwomen are engaged in the service of their masters and do not get as many opportunities for good deeds as a free person does. However, despite being slaves, they fulfill the rights of their masters, and along with that, they also fulfill the rights of Allah, the Possessor of Majesty. They are regular in prayer and fasting. This also contains encouragement that servants, employees, and subordinates should continue to fulfill the rights of their masters as well as the rights of Allah.
