Hadith 467

اَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوْسٰی، نَا اَبُوْ حَمْزَةَ السَّکَرِیُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِالْعَزِیْزِ بْنِ رَفِیْعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ اَبِیْ مُلَیْکَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ رَّسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ یَقُوْلُ: اَلشَّرِیْكُ شَفِیْعٌ، وَالشُّفْعَةُ فِیْ کُلِّ شَئْیٍٔ.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "The partner has the right of pre-emption, and pre-emption is in everything."

Benefits:
It is understood that shuf‘ah (pre-emption) can apply to everything. For shuf‘ah, being a partner is necessary. When the property is divided and the boundaries are determined, the right of shuf‘ah is established.
