Hadith 46

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "People will ask you about everything until they say: Allah created all these things, so who created Him?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you are asked (such a question), then say: Allah existed before everything, He created everything, and He will remain after everything."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that Satan casts such whisperings (waswasah) into a person’s heart that are contrary to faith (iman). Such thoughts generally occur to the people of faith, because Satan is the enemy of faith; therefore, it is upon the people of faith that his whisperings occur most frequently. In another hadith, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((Fa idha balaghahu falyasta‘idh billahi walyantahi))... “When such a doubt occurs to someone, he should seek refuge with Allah from the evil of Satan and turn his attention away from that whispering.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 3276; Sahih Muslim, no. 214)

In another hadith, it is mentioned: when the thought arises, ‘Who created Allah the Exalted?’ then in response say:
((Allahu ahad, Allahu al-samad, lam yalid wa lam yulad, wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad)) (Sunan Abi Dawud, Kitab al-Sunnah: 4722)

Similarly, one should recite the Mu‘awwidhatayn (Surah al-Falaq and Surah al-Nas) three times each in the morning and evening, and once after every prayer, so that one may be protected from the whisperings of Satan.
