Musnad Ishaq

Benefits:
From the aforementioned hadith, the importance of trust (amanah) and the evil end of those who betray it are made clear. Allah, the Exalted, says:

﴿وَ مَا كَانَ لِنَبِیٍّ اَنْ یَّغُلَّ وَ مَنْ یَّغْلُلْ یَاْتِ بِمَا غَلَّ یَوْمَ الْقِیٰمَةِ ثُمَّ تُوَفّٰی كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَ هُمْ لَا یُظْلَمُوْنَ﴾ (Aal Imran: 161)
“It is not befitting for a Prophet to act dishonestly, and whoever betrays will bring forth what he betrayed on the Day of Resurrection. Then every soul will be paid in full for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.”

The matter mentioned in the hadith will occur on the Plain of Gathering (Mahshar), so that this person may be disgraced. Betrayal (khiyanah) is a grave crime and one of the signs of hypocrisy. As narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah radi Allahu anhu, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The signs of a hypocrite are three: ((When he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted, he betrays the trust.))” (Bukhari, no. 34)

When Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, mentioned the qualities of the believers in the Noble Qur’an, He said:

﴿قَدْ اَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ() .... وَالَّذِیْنَ هُمْ لِاَمَانٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُوْنَ() وَالَّذِیْنَ هُمْ عَلٰی صَلَوَاتِهِمْ یُحَافِظُوْنَ() اُوْلٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْوَارِثُوْنَ() الَّذِینَ یَرِثُوْنَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِیْهَا خٰلِدُوْنَ﴾ (Al-Mu’minun: 1–11)
“Certainly, the believers have succeeded (the believers are those) ... who are watchful of their trusts and their covenants, and who guard their prayers. They are the inheritors, who will inherit Paradise (al-Firdaws), wherein they will abide forever.”
