Walking briskly during Tawaf
Hadith 386
اَخْبَرَنَا وَکِیْعٌ، نَا فَطْرٌ، عَنْ اَبِی الطُّفَیْلِ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الرَّمْلِ، وَقُلْتُ: قَوْمُكَ یَزْعُمُوْنَ اَنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ رَمَلَ، فَقَالَ: صَدَقُوْا وَکَذَبُوْا، اِنَّ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا قَدِمَ تَحَدَّثَ الْمُشْرِکُوْنَ اِنَّ بِهِ هَزْلًا وَبِاَصْحَابِهٖ، فَاَمَرَهُمْ اَنْ یَّرْمُلُوْا.
Abu Al-Tufail narrated: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about ramal, and I said: The people of your tribe say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ramal. He replied: They have spoken the truth and they have spoken incorrectly. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came (to Mecca), the polytheists began to say that you (peace and blessings be upon him) and your noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) had become weak (after going to Madinah), so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them (the noble companions, may Allah be pleased with them) to perform ramal.
