It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) proclaimed the Talbiyah for ‘Umrah until he touched the Black Stone, and he proclaimed the Talbiyah for Hajj until he stoned the Jamrah.

Benefits: It is understood that in ‘umrah, the talbiyah should be stopped before beginning the tawaf. In Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi, it is narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas radi Allahu anhuma: ((He would stop saying the talbiyah in ‘umrah when he touched the Black Stone.)) (Sunan at-Tirmidhi, Chapters on Hajj, Chapter: What Has Been Related About When The Talbiyah Is To Be Stopped In ‘Umrah: 919) “The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would stop saying the talbiyah as soon as he performed istilam (touching) of the Black Stone during ‘umrah.”
