Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "The entire plain of Arafat is a place of standing (for Hajj), but do not stay in ‘Urnah (a place near Arafat); the entire Muzdalifah is a place of standing, but do not stand in Muhassir (a place between Mina and Muzdalifah); and all the roads of Makkah are places for sacrifice."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: ➊ Going to the plain of Arafat on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah is obligatory; if someone does not go, his Hajj is invalid. Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Ya’mar radi Allahu anhu says that I was with the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam when some people came and began to ask about Hajj. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Hajj is (standing) at Arafat. Whoever reaches Arafat before the dawn of the night of Muzdalifah (i.e., the night between the 9th and 10th of Dhul-Hijjah), his Hajj is complete.” (Sunan al-Nasa’i, Kitab al-Hajj, Bab Fard al-Wuquf bi-Arafah) It is understood from this that if a person reaches the plain of Arafat even for a moment before the dawn of the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, his Hajj is valid; if he does not reach, then his Hajj is not valid. The valley of Arafat and the valley of Namirah are adjacent to each other. It should also be remembered that one part of Masjid Namirah is in the valley of Arafat and the other part is in the valley of Namirah. Inside the mosque, a board has been placed to indicate this, therefore, before staying in the mosque, one should ascertain the boundaries of Arafat so that the Hajj is not invalidated.
➋ Spending the night between the 9th and 10th of Dhul-Hijjah in Muzdalifah is obligatory, because staying in Muzdalifah is a pillar of Hajj. The valley of Muhassir is the place where the army of Abraha was destroyed; it is between Mina and Muzdalifah, and this place is adjacent to Muzdalifah. Therefore, care should be taken not to stay in the valley of Muhassir instead of Muzdalifah.
➌ “Fijaj” refers to open roads; the meaning is that one can enter (Makkah) from any road, but entering from the side of Kada’ is better. Similarly, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “All of Arafat is a place of standing, all of Mina is a place of sacrifice, all of Muzdalifah is a place of standing, and all the streets and roads of Makkah are places of sacrifice.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, no. 1936. Its chain is authentic.) It is better to perform the sacrifice in Mina; if that is not possible, then the sacrifice can be performed anywhere in Makkah. However, it is not permissible outside Makkah al-Mukarramah.
