Abdur Rahman bin Abi Mulaika narrated: A man came to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), so he asked: Where have you come from? He replied: I have drunk the water of Zamzam. He (Ibn Abbas) said: Did you drink it in the manner it should be drunk? He replied: How should it be drunk? He said: When you intend to drink the water of Zamzam, face the Qiblah, then say Bismillah, then drink it in three breaths, then fill yourself with it, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The difference between us and the hypocrites is that they do not fill themselves with the water of Zamzam (they do not drink much of it)."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: Some of the scholars have classified this narration as hasan (good). From the aforementioned narration, it is understood that the hypocrite drinks only a little Zamzam. Therefore, the believers should, if Allah the Majestic grants them the ability, drink Zamzam to their fill. Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhuma narrates that the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The water of Zamzam fulfills the purpose for which it is drunk. If you drink it for a cure from illness, Allah will grant you healing. If you drink it to quench your thirst, Allah will quench your thirst. And this is the well of Jibril, which Allah gave Isma’il to drink.” (Sunan Dar Qutni: 2/289)
