Hadith 336

اَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ وَعَبْدُالرَّزَّاقِ قَالَا: نَا ابْنُ جُرَیْجٍ، اَخْبَرَنِیْ سُلَیْمَانُ الْاَحْوَلُ اَنَّهٗ سَمِعَ طَاؤُوْسًا یُخْبِرُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ اَنَّ النَّبِیَّ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ وَهُوَ یَطُوْفُ بِالْکَعْبَةِ بِاِنْسَانٍ یَقُوْدُ اِنْسَانًا بِخَزَامَةٍ فِی اَنْفِهٖ، فَقَطَعَهٗ بِیَدِهٖ، ثُمَّ اَمَرَهٗ اَنْ یَّاْخُذَ بِیَدِہٖ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man while performing Tawaf of the Ka'bah, who had a ring in his nose and another man was guiding him (making him perform Tawaf). So the Prophet cut it off with his blessed hand, then ordered him to hold him by his hand.

In another narration, it is mentioned that she had made a vow (nadhar). It is understood from this that fulfilling such a vow which is contrary to human dignity is not permissible. And one should not unnecessarily put oneself into hardship. It is also understood that during circumambulation (tawaf), it is permissible to speak if there is a need.
