أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُؤَمَّلِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّهْمِيِّ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي تَجْرَاةَ، وَكَانَتْ وَلَدَتْ فِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ قَالَتْ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: ((إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ عَلَيْكُمُ السَّعْيَ فَاسْعَوْا)) ، وَإِنَّ ثَوْبَهُ وَإِزَارَهُ لَيَدُورُ عَلَى سَاقِهِ مِنْ شِدَّةِ السَّعْيِ حَتَّى لَأَرَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ ".
Habibah bint Abi Tajrah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, and he was saying: “Allah has made Sa’i obligatory upon you, so perform Sa’i.” Due to his brisk running, his garment and lower wrap were swirling around his shins until I could see his knees.
