Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until wealth becomes so abundant and there is such an overflow of wealth that a wealthy person will be concerned about who will accept his charity; he will offer it, but the person to whom he offers it will say: (Sir) I have no need of it."
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
From the mentioned hadith, it is understood that among the signs of the Hour is also the abundance of wealth, such that people will not be willing to accept charity and alms. The prophecies of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) are being fulfilled word for word, and some have already come to pass.
Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) writes: In the era of the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum)—especially during the time of Sayyiduna Umar (radi Allahu anhu), when Persia and Rome were conquered and heaps of wealth accumulated—similarly, during the caliphate of Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz (rahimahullah), people would search for recipients to give charity to, but no one was willing to accept it. In the same way, it will be during the time of Sayyiduna Isa (alayhis salam). (Fath al-Bari: 13/88)
It is narrated in Sahih Muslim that Sayyiduna Isa (alayhis salam): ((Yad‘ūna ilā al-māl fa-lā yaqbaluhu aḥad))... “They will call people to accept wealth, but no one will be willing to take it.” (Muslim, Book of Faith, Chapter: Clarification of the Descent of Isa ibn Maryam)
