Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
It is understood that seeking blessings (tabarruk) from something that has touched the pure body of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is permissible, provided that its association with the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is certain. In Sahih al-Bukhari, it is narrated that Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar (radi Allahu anhuma) says: When Abdullah ibn Ubayy died, his son Abdullah ibn Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu) came to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and requested that he (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) give his shirt so that he could shroud his father in it. The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) handed over his shirt to Abdullah ibn Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu). (Bukhari, No: 1269)
Here, Abdullah ibn Ubayy, the chief of the hypocrites, is meant. His son was a Companion of the Messenger (radi Allahu anhu), and his name was also Abdullah.
