Qartha’ narrated: When Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) fell ill, his wife began to wail. Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said to her: “Do you not know what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said?” She replied: “Why not?” So she became silent. Later, she was asked, and she said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who wails (in mourning), shaves the head (in grief), and tears the clothes.”

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: From the aforementioned hadith, the state of faith of the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) is established. Even in severe illness, they were not heedless of obligations such as enjoining good (amr bil-ma'ruf) and forbidding evil (nahi 'anil-munkar). It is understood that wailing in times of calamity, tearing clothes, and shaving the head are prohibited (haram). Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "There are two traits among people, and both are acts of disbelief (kufr): finding fault with lineage and wailing over the deceased." (Muslim, No: 103)
In another hadith, it is stated that if a woman who wails does not repent before her death, then on the Day of Resurrection she will be made to stand in such a state that she will be wearing a garment of tar and an armor infested with scabies. (Muslim, No: 934)
The words "He is not from us" indicate the severity of this sin.
