Hadith 251
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، نا أَبُو بَلْجٍ، وَهُوَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْجُلَاسُ، يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ، مَرَّ عَلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُ، فَقَالَ بَعْضٌ: حَدِّثْنَا يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، فَقَالَ: دَعْنَا مِنْكَ يَا مَرْوَانُ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَقَالَ لَهُ: كَيْفَ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْجِنَازَةِ؟ فَقَالَ: أَتَعُدُّ مَا قُلْتُ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: يَقُولُ ((اللَّهُمْ أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَهَا وَأَنْتَ قَبَضْتَ رُوحَهَا وَأَنْتَ هَدَيْتَهَا لِلْإِسْلَامِ وَأَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ سِرَّهَا وَعَلَانِيَتَهَا، جِئْنَا شُفَعَاءَ فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ)) .
Jallas narrates: Marwan bin Hakam passed by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was narrating hadith, so he said: "Abu Hurairah! Divide your speech, make the hadith into parts." He replied: "Marwan! Leave us to ourselves." The narrator stated, then he (Marwan) returned and said to him: "How did you hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicating in the funeral prayer?" He replied: "What I have said, do you count it?" He said: "Yes." He said: "He used to supplicate: 'O Allah! You created him, You took his soul, You guided him to Islam, You know his outward and inward, we have come as intercessors, so forgive him.'"
