Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Whoever offers the funeral prayer will have one qirat of reward, and whoever remains with it until the burial will have two qirats of reward, and the smallest of these two is like the mountain of Uhud."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
From the mentioned hadith, it is understood that accompanying the funeral of a Muslim and remaining with it until the burial carries a great reward, provided that one participates with the intention of seeking reward. As is stated in Sahih al-Bukhari, the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((Man ittaba‘a janāzata muslimin īmānan wa ihtisāban)) (Bukhari, no. 47)... “Whoever accompanies the funeral of a Muslim out of faith and seeking reward.”
