Benefits:
From the mentioned hadith, one can gauge the importance of trustworthiness (amanah), as faith (iman) and trustworthiness are inseparable. If a person is not trustworthy, then certainly he is deprived of faith, as:

The statement of Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu is:
“…Do not be deceived by a person’s prayer or his fasting; let him fast as much as he wishes, let him pray as much as he wishes, but he has no religion who is not trustworthy.”

Similarly, it is mentioned in the hadith that there are three signs of a hypocrite:
“When he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when something is entrusted to him, he betrays that trust.”

And the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also said:
“And even if he prays, fasts, and thinks that he is a Muslim.”

For details, see the explanation of hadith number 382.

Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, has mentioned the qualities of the believers in the Noble Qur’an, and among these qualities is trustworthiness:
“And those who are faithful to their trusts and their covenants.”

If we consider, the entire structure of the religion is established upon trustworthiness. When Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, granted the religion through Jibril alayhis salam to His noble prophets alayhimus salam, Jibril alayhis salam himself was given the title “the Trustworthy Spirit” (ar-ruh al-amin). Likewise, the prophets alayhimus salam were also given the title of “trustworthy” (amin). As in Surah ash-Shu‘ara, regarding the call of the noble prophets alayhimus salam, the statement of every prophet is mentioned as:
“I am to you a trustworthy messenger.”
