Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) at the time of Fajr prayer: "Bilal! Tell me about the most hopeful righteous deed you have done, and which, in your view, was for the benefit of Islam, for I heard the sound of your footsteps ahead of me in Paradise last night." He replied: "I do not consider any deed more hopeful to me than this: whenever I have performed ablution at any time of the night or day, I have offered as much voluntary prayer as Allah has destined for me."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: ➊ ... From the mentioned hadith, the greatness and virtue of Sayyiduna Bilal bin Rabah radi Allahu anhu is established. ➋ ... It is also known that Sayyiduna Bilal radi Allahu anhu is among the people of Paradise.
His radi Allahu anhu name was Bilal, his father's name was Rabah, and his mother's name was Hamamah. He radi Allahu anhu was a slave of Umayyah bin Khalaf; Sayyiduna Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radi Allahu anhu bought him and set him free. He participated in the Battle of Badr and the subsequent battles, and when the call to prayer (adhan) began in Madinah, he radi Allahu anhu and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umm Maktum radi Allahu anhu would take turns giving the adhan before the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam—sometimes one, sometimes the other. Sayyiduna Bilal radi Allahu anhu had a beautiful and pleasing voice and was eloquent.
He radi Allahu anhu was about sixty or sixty-five years old when he passed away in the region of Sham (Greater Syria). For further details, see (Usud al-Ghabah: 415, al-Bidayah wa’n-Nihayah: Events of 20 AH).
From the above narration, the virtue of those who remain in a state of ablution (wudu) and of performing prayer after every ablution is established.
In another narration, it is stated that Sayyiduna Bilal radi Allahu anhu said: Whenever I give the adhan, I perform two rak‘ahs (units of prayer), and I always remain in a state of ablution; whenever my ablution breaks, I perform ablution again, then I perform two rak‘ahs of prayer so regularly that it is as if it is a right of my Lord upon me. So the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “It is because of these two actions that Allah has granted you this status—that whenever I entered Paradise, I heard the sound of your footsteps ahead of me or to one side.” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 3954; Musnad Ahmad: 5/354, its chain is authentic)
