Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
➊ The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave various advices to his noble companions radi Allahu anhum on different occasions. Among these, he also gave some advices to Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu. In another hadith, it is mentioned: "My beloved sallallahu alayhi wa sallam advised me regarding three things which I will never abandon under any circumstances. They are: that I should not sleep without performing the witr prayer, and that I should not leave the two rak‘ahs of the forenoon prayer (duha), because this is the prayer of the oft-returning (salat al-awwabin), and that I should fast three days of the white days (ayyam al-beedh) every month." (Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, no. 1083)
It is evident that, in the view of the companions radi Allahu anhum, the command of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam held great importance. Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, also mentioned these very qualities of the companions radi Allahu anhum, saying:
﴿اِِنَّمَا كَانَ قَوْلَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ اِِذَا دُعُوْا اِِلَی اللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ لِیَحْکُمَ بَیْنَهُمْ اَنْ یَّقُوْلُوْا سَمِعْنَا وَاَطَعْنَا وَاُوْلٰٓئِکَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ﴾ (al-Nur: 51).... "When they are called to Allah and His Messenger so that he may judge between them, their only response is: 'We hear and we obey.' It is such as these who will prosper."
From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that the witr prayer can be performed after the ‘isha prayer and before sleeping, if there is a fear of not waking up in the morning.
➋ The forenoon prayer (salat al-duha) is also called the ishraq prayer. Its time begins a short while after sunrise. The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "There is a charity due on every joint of a person every morning, and the charity for all these limbs (joints) is the two rak‘ahs of the forenoon prayer (duha)." (Muslim, Kitab Salat al-Musafirin: 720)
In Jami‘ al-Tirmidhi, it is mentioned that whoever performs two rak‘ahs after sunrise will receive the reward of a complete hajj and ‘umrah. (Tirmidhi, no. 586, its chain is authentic)
➌ The three fasts of the white days (ayyam al-beedh). The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, clarifying the white days, said: "Fasting three days every month is as if one has fasted for a lifetime." And by white days is meant those days when the moon is fully bright, i.e., the 13th, 14th, and 15th of each lunar month. (Sunan al-Nasa’i, Kitab al-Siyam, no. 2422)
