Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
From the aforementioned ahadith, it is understood that the Eid prayer is obligatory (wajib). Because when menstruating women (ha’idh) and women without a shawl are commanded to go to the Eid ground, then it is even more incumbent upon men. It is also understood that the mosque is not the place for performing the Eid prayer, because menstruating women cannot go there. Women should go out with proper covering (purdah); it is absolutely not permissible for them to go out adorned and unveiled. Children, both boys and girls, should also be taken to the Eid ground. (Bukhari, No: 975)
It is understood that if someone does not have her own shawl, she should borrow one from someone else and attend the Eid ground. It is also understood that after performing the Eid prayer, one should listen to the sermon (khutbah) and make supplication (du‘a) before returning.
