Recitation in Dhuhr and Asr as per the statement of Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them
Hadith 19
أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " مَا سَنَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، شَيْئًا إِلا وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ،وَلَا أَدْرِي:أَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ أَمْ لَا؟،وَلا أَدْرِي اَنْ كَانَ يَقُوْلُ: ﴿وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الكِبَرِ عُتِيًّا أَوْ عُسُيًّا ﴾وَنَسِيتُ الثَّالِثَةُ.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: Whatever practice the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) established, I know it, and I do not know whether he used to recite (Qira’ah) in Zuhr and Asr or not. And I do not know whether he used to recite this «وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا اَوْ عِسِيَّا» [19-مريم:8] — I have forgotten the third thing.
