Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that responding to the call to prayer (adhan) is a Sunnah. In another hadith it is stated:
((When you hear the call, then say as the caller (mu’adhdhin) says.)) (Bukhari, Kitab al-Adhan, No: 611) ... "When you hear the adhan, then say as the mu’adhdhin says."
In Sahih Muslim it is mentioned: Instead of "Hayya ‘ala as-salah" and "Hayya ‘ala al-falah," one should say "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (There is no power and no strength except with Allah), and in this narration it is stated that whoever responds to the adhan will enter Paradise. (Muslim, Kitab as-Salat, Bab Istihbab al-Qawl Mithla Qawl al-Mu’adhdhin, No: 385)
