Hadith 176

With this same chain, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever prays our prayer, faces our qiblah, eats our slaughtered animals, and fasts in our (month of) Ramadan, then this person is a Muslim; for him is the protection of Allah and His Messenger."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
In the aforementioned hadith, the testimony of faith (shahadatayn) is not mentioned. This is because the shahadatayn are already included within the prayer (salah), and only a person who believes in the divinity (uluhiyyah) of Allah and the messengership (risalah) of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) performs the prayer. Therefore, they were not mentioned separately. By stipulating the condition of facing the Sacred Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) and the Ka'bah during prayer, the prayers of the People of the Book and others were rendered invalid. Just as abstaining from eating the slaughtered animal of someone (not fulfilling the conditions) pertains to customs, similarly, this is also among the acts of worship.

The question also arises as to why zakat and hajj are not mentioned. The answer is that these are not obligatory upon everyone. What is meant by “from Allah and His Messenger’s responsibility” are the blessings that Muslims receive due to Islam, such as the guarantee of life, the guarantee of wealth, the protection of honor, and so on.
