Abu Al-Awbar narrated: I was with Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), when a man said to him: Have you forbidden people from praying while wearing shoes? Then the narrator mentioned the story about the shoes and the hadith regarding fasting on Friday, similar to the previous narration, and did not mention what comes after that.

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: ➊ It is permissible to pray both while wearing shoes and after removing them. As narrated by Sayyiduna Amr ibn Shu‘ayb rahimahullah from his father, and he from his grandfather Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Amr radi Allahu anhu, who said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam praying after removing his shoes and also while wearing them.” (Sunan Ibn Majah, no. 1038) However, if one is to perform prayer while wearing shoes, it is a condition that the shoes be pure. As mentioned in the hadith, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “When any one of you comes to the mosque, he should look carefully at his shoes. If he sees any filth or impurity on them, he should wipe it off and then pray in them.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, no. 650)
➋ ... It is understood that it is not permissible to fast on Friday alone. The majority of scholars consider it disliked (makruh), while some have declared fasting on this day to be forbidden (haram). The reason for the prohibition of fasting on Friday has already been clarified in the hadith: Friday is a day of Eid, and fasting on Eid is unanimously forbidden; therefore, one should not fast on Friday. However, there is this difference between Eid and Friday: if one joins a day before or a day after with Friday, then fasting on Friday becomes permissible.
