Hadith 1791
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: جَاءَ الطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدَّوْسِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ دَوْسًا قَدْ عَصَتْ وَأَبَتْ فَادْعُ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهَا. فَاسْتَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ: هَلَكَتْ دَوْسٌ، فَقَالَ: "اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِ دَوْسًا وَائْتِ بِهِمْ" . أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْأَشْرِبَةِ وَفَضَائِلِ قُرَيْشٍ.
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Tufail bin Amr Dausi (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah! The (tribe of) Daus has not obeyed and has refused to listen to the word of Allah, so please invoke a curse upon them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned his face towards the Qiblah and raised his hands, so the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) thought that now the people of Daus would be destroyed. But the Prophet ﷺ prayed: "O Allah! Guide the people of Daus and bring them (to Islam)."
