Hadith 1787
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: كُنَّا يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعَ مِائَةٍ، وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "أَنْتُمُ الْيَوْمَ خَيْرُ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ" . قَالَ جَابِرٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: لَوْ كُنْتُ أُبْصِرُ لَأَرَيْتُكُمْ مَوْضِعَ الشَّجَرَةِ. أَخْرَجَهُ فِي كِتَابِ اخْتِلَافِ مَالِكٍ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا.
Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: On the day of Hudaybiyyah, our number was 1400, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Today you are the best among all the people of the world." Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If I had eyesight today, I would show you the place of that tree."
