Abdullah bin Abu Bakr narrated from his father that in the book which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote for Amr bin Hazm (may Allah be pleased with him), it is stated: "For a wound that exposes the bone (mudihah), there are five camels."

It is narrated from Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) that Umar and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them both) gave the verdict of half the blood money (diyah) for a "multa’ah" (the membrane between the skull bone and flesh being cut) as is given for a "mudiha" (a wound that exposes the bone).

It is also narrated through another chain from Ibn Musayyib that a narration similar to the previous hadith is reported from Umar and Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them both).

Imam Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Whoever heard from Ibn Nafi’, he informed me that he narrates from Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) with the same chain regarding a narration similar to this (previous hadith).” Imam Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “And we read before Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) that we do not know anyone among the predecessors or the current Imams who has given any ruling (of blood money) for any wound less than a ‘muwaddiha’ (a wound exposing the bone).”
