Abdullah bin Abu Bakr narrated from his father that in the book which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote for Amr bin Hazm (may Allah be pleased with him), it is stated: "When the entire nose is cut off, its compensation is one hundred camels. For a head wound, the compensation is one third of the blood money; for a wound in the abdomen or similar, also one third; for a wound in the eye, fifty; for the hand, fifty; and for the foot, fifty camels. For each finger, ten camels; for a tooth, five; and for a wound that exposes the bone, the compensation is also five camels."

Abu Ghatfan bin Tarif Muzani narrated that Marwan bin Hakam sent him to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) to ask about the blood money for a molar tooth. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: "It is five camels." (The narrator says) Marwan sent me again to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and said: "Do you consider the front part of the mouth like the molars?" Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: "Even if you do not accept it, the blood money for all the fingers is equal." Imam Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "This hadith indicates that the blood money for both lips is also equal. And there are other reports from the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) regarding the blood money for the lips."
