Hadith 1646
It is narrated from Amr bin Shu'aib (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to fix the price of camels for the people of the town at four hundred dinars or its equivalent in silver (dirhams), which would be divided according to the price of camels. When camels became expensive, he would increase its price, and when they became cheaper, he would decrease its price. The people of the town are obliged to pay the price that is current at that time.

Hadith 1647
It is narrated from Mak’hool and Ata’ (may Allah have mercy on them), they said: “We found people saying that the blood money (diyah) of a free Muslim during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was one hundred camels. Then Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) set the diyah for townspeople at one thousand dinars or twelve thousand dirhams. And for a free Muslim woman among the townspeople, the diyah was five hundred dinars or six thousand dirhams. If the killer was a Bedouin, then her diyah was fifty camels, and the diyah for a Bedouin woman, if killed by a Bedouin, was also set at fifty camels. And he said: ‘A Bedouin should not be made responsible for payment in gold or silver.’”
