Hadith 1556
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: "تَجَافَوْا لِذَوِي الْهَيْئَاتِ عَنْ عَثَرَاتِهِمْ" .
Narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Forgive the mistakes of honorable people."
Hadith 1557
قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ: سَمِعْتُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِمَّنْ يَعْرِفُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ يَقُولُ: يُتَجَافَى لِلرَّجُلِ ذِي الْهَيْئَةِ مِنْ عَثْرَتِهِ مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ حَدًّا.
Muhammad bin Idris narrated that I heard from those scholars who know this hadith. They say that the mistake of an honorable person should be overlooked until his mistake reaches the limit.
Hadith 1558
أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ: أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: إِنْ يُجْلَدْ قُدَامَةُ الْيَوْمَ فَلَنْ يُتْرَكَ أَحَدٌ بَعْدَهُ، وَكَانَ قُدَامَةُ بَدْرِيًّا. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْجَنَائِزِ، وَالثَّالِثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْأَشْرِبَةِ.
It is narrated from Abu Ja'far that 'Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "If today Qudamah is flogged, then after him no one will be spared," and Qudamah, may Allah be pleased with him, was a companion who participated in Badr.
