Hadith 1514
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حَرَامِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُحَيِّصَةَ: أَنَّ مُحَيِّصَةَ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كَسْبِ الْحَجَّامِ، فَنَهَاهُ عَنْهُ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يُكَلِّمُهُ حَتَّى قَالَ: "أَطْعِمْهُ رَقِيقَكَ، وَاعْلِفْهُ نَاضِحَكَ" .
It is narrated from Haram bin Sa’d bin Muhaisah that Muhaisah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the earnings from cupping. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from it. He kept discussing this matter with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Feed it (the earnings) to your slave, and buy fodder with it to feed your water-drawing camel.”
Hadith 1515
أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حَرَامِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُحَيِّصَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّهُ اسْتَأْذَنَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي إِجَارَةِ الْحَجَّامِ فَنَهَاهُ عَنْهُ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَسْأَلُهُ وَيَسْتَأْذِنُهُ حَتَّى قَالَ: "اعْلِفْهُ نَاضِحَكَ وَرَقِيقَكَ" .
It is narrated from Haram bin Sa'd bin Muhaysah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (ﷺ) for permission to take wages for cupping, but he (ﷺ) forbade him from taking this wage. After that, he continued to ask and seek permission until the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "You may feed it (the wage) to your water-drawing camel and your slave."
Hadith 1516
أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: حَجَمَ أَبُو طَيْبَةَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِصَاعٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ، وَأَمَرَ أَهْلَهُ أَنْ يُخَفِّفُوا عَنْهُ مِنْ خَرَاجِهِ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Abu Taybah (may Allah be pleased with him) performed cupping for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace be upon him) ordered that he be given one sa’ of dates, and he (peace be upon him) ordered his owners to reduce his levy.
Hadith 1517
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ: أَنَّهُ قِيلَ لَهُ: احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ حَجَمَهُ أَبُو طَيْبَةَ ، فَأَعْطَاهُ صَاعَيْنِ، وَأَمَرَ مَوَالِيَهُ أَنْ يُخَفِّفُوا عَنْهُ مِنْ ضَرِيبَتِهِ، وَقَالَ: "إِنَّ أَمْثَلَ مَا تَدَاوَيْتُمْ بِهِ الْحِجَامَةُ وَالْقُسْطُ الْبَحْرِيُّ لِصِبْيَانِكُمْ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ، وَلَا تُعَذِّبُوهُمْ بِالْغَمْزِ" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), he was asked whether the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done. He replied, "Yes! Abu Taybah (may Allah be pleased with him) performed cupping on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet gave him two sa’ (a measure), and told his owners to reduce something from his tax, and said: 'Among the best of your treatments is cupping, and Indian costus is for your children's throat pain; do not cause them pain by pressing their throats.'"
Hadith 1518
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ. أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، قَالَ: احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ لِلْحَجَّامِ: "اشْكِمُوهُ" . أَخْرَجَ الْخَمْسَةَ الْأَحَادِيثَ وَالسَّنَدَ بِلَا مَتْنٍ مِنَ الْجُزْءِ الثَّانِي مِنَ اخْتِلَافِ الْحَدِيثِ.
It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) through one chain of transmission. Through another chain, it is narrated from Tawus. He said, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had cupping done and ordered regarding the cupper: "Give him his wages."
