Hadith 1506
قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي كِتَابِهِ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَطْعَمَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لُحُومَ الْخَيْلِ، وَنَهَانَا عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ.
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fed us horse meat and forbade us from eating donkey meat.
Hadith 1507
قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي كِتَابِهِ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، قَالَتْ: نَحَرْنَا فَرَسًا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَكَلْنَاهُ. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ وَعِمَارَةِ الْأَرْضِينَ مِمَّا لَمْ يَسْمَعِ الرَّبِيعُ مِنَ الشَّافِعِيِّ.
Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we slaughtered a horse and then we ate its meat.
