It is narrated from Yahya al-Mazini (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is to be neither harming nor reciprocating harm."

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should prevent his brother from inserting a piece of wood into his wall." Al-A'raj said: Then Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say, "What is this that I find you turning away from it? By Allah! I will continue to proclaim it before you."

It is narrated from Yahya Mazni (may Allah be pleased with him) that Dahhak bin Khalifa made a small water channel from the place of ‘Aridh to his field, and he wanted to pass it through the land of Muhammad bin Maslamah. But Muhammad bin Maslamah refused. Dahhak spoke to ‘Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) about this, so he said to Muhammad bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him), “Allow him the way.” Muhammad bin Maslamah said, “No.” Then ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “Why do you prevent your brother from something that is beneficial for him, while it is also beneficial for you, as all your land will receive water without hardship?” Even then, Muhammad bin Maslamah refused. So ‘Umar said, “By Allah! This channel will definitely pass, even if it has to pass over you.”

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever withholds surplus water in order to prevent grass from growing, Allah Almighty will withhold His mercy from him on the Day of Resurrection."
