It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that he said: "For her, the dowry is half, and there is absolutely no waiting period (‘iddah) for her, meaning the woman about whom Allah Almighty has said: 'And if you divorce women before you have touched them and you have already specified a dowry for them...' (__QUR_2:237__) and Allah Almighty's statement: 'Then if you divorce them before you have touched them, there is no waiting period for you to count against them...' (__QUR_33:49__).”

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to say: "Every divorced woman is entitled to mut‘ah (a parting gift) except for the woman whose dowry has been fixed and then she is divorced before consummation; in that case, half of her dowry will be counted for her."

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to say: Every divorced woman is entitled to maintenance upon divorce, except for the one whose dowry has been specified and then she is divorced before consummation; for her, only the specified dowry will be counted.

It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said regarding the man who, after marriage, was alone with his wife but did not have intercourse, and then divorced her, that half of the dowry is obligatory upon him, because Allah Almighty says: "And if you divorce them before you have touched them, and you have appointed for them a dowry, then give half of what you appointed" (Al-Baqarah: 237).
