Hadith 1199
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: مَا بَالُ رِجَالٍ يَطَئُونَ وَلَائِدَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَعْزِلُونَ، لَا تَأْتِينِي وَلِيدَةٌ يَعْتَرِفُ سَيِّدُهَا أَنْ قَدْ أَلَمَّ بِهَا إِلَّا قَدْ أَلْحَقْتُ بِهِ وَلَدَهَا، فَاعْزِلُوا بَعْدُ أَوِ اتْرُكُوا.
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "What is the matter with people that they have intercourse with their slave women and then practice coitus interruptus (withdrawal)? Now, if any slave woman comes to me and her master admits to having had intercourse with her, I will attribute the (child) to his father. After that, whether you practice coitus interruptus or not, it is up to you."
Hadith 1200
أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ فِي إِرْسَالِ الْوَلَائِدِ يُوطَأْنَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ فِي كِتَابِ اخْتِلَافِ مَالِكٍ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ.
From another chain, through Safiyyah bint Abi Ubaid, a narration similar to Salim's hadith is reported from Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).
