Hadith 1197
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ: أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا يَسْأَلُهَا: هَلْ يُبَاشِرُ الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ؟ فَقَالَتْ: لِتَشْدُدْ إِزَارَهَا عَلَى أَسْفَلِهَا ثُمَّ يُبَاشِرُهَا إِنْ شَاءَ. أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ أَحْكَامِ الْقُرْآنِ.
It is narrated from Nafi‘ (may Allah have mercy on him) that ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) sent him to ask ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) whether a man can have intercourse with his wife during her menstruation. She replied: “(The wife) should tie a waist-wrapper tightly around her lower part, then if he (the husband) wishes, he may have intercourse with her.”
