Hadith 1124
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ: أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَرَادَ لَا يَنْكِحُ فَقَالَتْ لَهُ حَفْصَةُ: تَزَوَّجْ، فَإِنْ وُلِدَ لَكَ وَلَدٌ فَعَاشَ مِنْ بَعْدِكَ دَعَوْا لَكَ. أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ أَحْكَامِ الْقُرْآنِ.
It is narrated from Amr bin Dinar that Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) intended not to marry, so Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) said to him, "Get married; if you have children, they will pray for you after you have passed away."
