It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is the right of the slave to have food and clothing in a good manner from his master, and he should only be assigned work according to his capacity."

It is narrated from Utbah bin Abi Lahab that he heard Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) say regarding slaves: "Feed them what you eat yourself, and clothe them with what you wear yourself."

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the servant of any one of you protects him from the heat and smoke of cooking, then at the time of eating, he should make him sit with him. If this is not possible, then he should give him a tasty morsel from that food, or grant it to him." Or he said a word of similar meaning (the narrator is in doubt).
