Hadith 1061
أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: أَنَّ عُمَرَ مَلَكَ مِائَةَ سَهْمٍ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ اشْتَرَاهَا فَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مَا لَمْ أُصِبْ مِثْلَهُ قَطُّ، وَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَقَرَّبَ بِهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى، فَقَالَ: "حَبِّسِ الْأَصْلَ وَسَبِّلِ الثَّمَرَةَ" .
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) became the owner of one hundred shares from Khaybar which he had purchased, and he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have acquired such wealth that I have never acquired better wealth than this before, and I intend to seek nearness to Allah through it." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep the ownership of the garden, and dedicate its fruits in the way of Allah."
Hadith 1062
أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْقَاضِي وَهُوَ عُمَرُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ مَا لَا لَمْ أُصِبْ مَالًا قَطُّ أَعْجَبَ إِلَيَّ وَأَعْظَمَ عِنْدِي مِنْهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "إِنْ شِئْتَ حَبَّسْتَ أَصْلَهُ وَسَبَّلْتَ ثَمَرَهُ" ، فَتَصَدَّقَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِهِ ثُمَّ حَكَى صَدَقَتَهُ بِهِ.
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! I have acquired such wealth from Khaybar that I have never obtained any wealth better or more valuable to me than this. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you wish, keep the ownership of the garden and dedicate its produce in the way of Allah." So Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) gave it in charity, then Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) described the manner of his charity.
Hadith 1063
أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: جَاءَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مَالًا لَمْ أُصِبْ مِثْلَهُ قَطُّ، وَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَقَرَّبَ بِهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "احْبِسْ أَصْلَهُ وَسَبِّلْ ثَمَرَهُ" . أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الرَّضَاعِ، وَالثَّالِثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْبَحِيرَةِ وَالسَّائِبَةِ.
It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have acquired such wealth that I have never acquired better wealth than this before, and I intend to seek nearness to Allah through it. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Keep its original property with yourself, and give its fruits in charity in the way of Allah."
