It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that he said: When people would finish Hajj, they would depart in every direction, so the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "None of the pilgrims should leave until his last act is at the House of Allah (i.e., he performs the Farewell Tawaf)."

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "None among the pilgrims should return until his last act is performed at the House of Allah. Indeed, the final act of Hajj is the (farewell) Tawaf of the House of Allah."

It is narrated from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "None of the pilgrims should return until he has performed the Tawaf of the House (Ka'bah), because the last act of Hajj is the (farewell) Tawaf of the House of Allah." Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: In our opinion—and Allah knows best—this is the explanation of Allah's statement: "Then its being made lawful is at the House of Allah," meaning that becoming lawful from the rites of Hajj and their completion is at the Ka'bah.
