Salim bin Abdullah narrated that Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When you have performed the stoning of the Jamarat, then everything that was made unlawful for you (due to Ihram) has now become lawful for you, except women and perfume."

Salim bin Abdullah narrated that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I myself applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)." She said that it is in the Book of Al-Imla that (I applied perfume) for his being lawful and for Ihram. Salim said: "And the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is more deserving to be followed."

Narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: "I applied perfume with my own hands to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for his becoming lawful (after Ihram) and for entering into Ihram during the Farewell Pilgrimage."

It is narrated from Salim bin Abdullah that he reported from Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he forbade the use of perfume before visiting the House (Ka'bah) and after the stoning of the Jamarat. Then Salim said that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) with my own hands for Ihram, before entering into Ihram, and before performing the Tawaf of the House, for being in a state of permissibility. And following the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is more deserving."

Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When you have stoned the Jamarat, slaughtered the animal, and shaved your head, then everything that was forbidden to you has become lawful for you except women and perfume." Salim said that Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I myself applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for Ihram before he entered into Ihram, and after stoning the Jamarat, before visiting the House of Allah, when he became lawful again. Salim said that the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is more deserving to be followed.
